Ionic Inquisition & Blog
Mrs. Mervet Ismail
Calcium chloride-  The formula is CaCl2. This is a Binary Ionic compound since it is made of two elements.
This is used quite often in our everyday lives.  It is used in rock salt, along with other salts.  It melts ice and snow to avoid accidents when traveling may be dangerous.  The way it works is by lowering the freezing point of water so that instead of being ice at 0 Celcius, it will remain liquid until -15 Celcius.
