Sodium hypochlorite
The formula is NaClO 
This is a Ternary Compound, since it has 3 elements. Sodium hypochlorite is used in many everyday supplies.  It is used for surface purification, bleaching, odor removal, and water disinfection. Sodium hypochlorite is commonly known as Bleach.   If Sodium Chloride is inhaled, it can cause coughing and sore throats.  There are both advantages and disadvantages to NaClO.  
Advantage- great disinfectant
Disadvantage- dangerous and corrosive substance

  1. I did know that sodium hypochlorite was a ternary compound, but I did not know it was used in bleach!
